Painters aim to become Top Brawler at Vangarde Arts Art Brawl
Brent Stockton, Vangarde Arts’ director, would use one word to describe the Art Brawl: "Weird."
Art critics and newbies alike packed Vangarde Arts from door to stage to view 12 artists create original pieces live during the third Art Brawl.
Instead of the quiet studio they may be used to, artists paint in front of a live audience and band. They’ve got 30 minutes to paint without reference with materials provided by Vangarde Arts. Once their time is up, it’s up to the audience members to decide who moves on to the next round, or in this case, who becomes the Top Brawler.

Students search for grave of D-Day soldier from Sioux City
Fourteen Sioux City high school students traveled to England and France on a 10-day educational trip to learn about history around the world.Though they were over 4,000 miles away from home, they also managed to find some history about their hometown.
One week after the 80th anniversary of the World War II D-Day invasion, the group planned a visit to the Normandy France American Cemetery, where over 9,300 soldiers are buried. It was there that they sought out a Sioux City native named Gerald Thomas Howard, who gave his life during the Allied invasion of Normandy on June 6, 1944.
